Tattoo

He didn't speak any English and had no way of telling me what those tattoos on his chest mean. My guess is that he was a soldier who fought in the anti-communist campaigns of the 1960's. To this day, tattoos with Buddhist inscriptions are worn by many Thai soldiers as a way to protect them from harm.

I know this guy! I have worked and lived in Phuket town on a number of occasions over the past few years and always see him chopping coconuts at the front of his store on Krabi Rd. I have always wanted to take his photograph but was too shy to ask. Great photo- Thanks for posting it online. Jack-
