A big, burning image of the Tai Soo Yah signals the end of the Chinese ghost month in Penang, Malaysia. I've waited a long time to shoot this main event, and it was every bit as interesting as I thought it would be.

Just finished photographing the start of the Chinese Ghost Month. It's the only event in Singapore that reminds me of New Year's Eve in the Philippines. There's folks waiting for midnight. Little fires everywhere. And you can't ignore that omnipresent burning smell.
