Tattoo

He didn't speak any English and had no way of telling me what those tattoos on his chest mean. My guess is that he was a soldier who fought in the anti-communist campaigns of the 1960's. To this day, tattoos with Buddhist inscriptions are worn by many Thai soldiers as a way to protect them from harm.
